I started having piano lessons at age 6/7 because my brother and sister were having lessons, and being the youngest, couldn't have them being able to do something I couldn't.  I took up the violin in primary school (standard) and joined an orchestra in secondary school.  I also took up the saxaphone at this age.

At 13, I was preparing for my Grade 8 piano exam (skipping Grade 7) when I had to have major spinal surgery.  This meant I wasn't allowed to pick up my saxaphone and violin as they were too heavy and sitting by the piano for any significant length of time, playing pieces that involved a lot of movement cause a lot of pain.  Housebound for months, I got very bored and started playing around on my mother's old folk guitar.  My mother taught me the 4 chords she knew and I learnt the rest from tabs on the internet.

For my 14th birthday, I got an electric guitar and amp. I started having lessons at 15 as I thought I had taught myself as much as I could.  I started playing piano again and passed my Grade 7 piano at 15 and finally passed my Grade 8 at 16, while doing G.C.S.Es.

I wrote my first song for a G.C.S.E Music composition - ths has since been re-invented and has become 'Hear Me'.  My second complete composition was for A-level Music Technology (and received full marks I'd like to add!).  After re-recording using live instruments, not MIDI, it has been named 'Face the Music'.

I studied English Literature at the University of East Anglia and throughout the 3 years there, most of this album was compiled (very roughly).
